CASE MANAGERS (Part Time)
Part-Time (25 hours per wk); Flexible Schedule (Day & Evening) SALARY: $15 per hour to start ($19,500 per year) Young People Matter (YPM) is looking for an individual who is interesting in growing with our organization and helping at-risk youth who are in need of housing stabilization, educational assistance, employment assistance and help with ensuring they go on to a successful adulthood. Candidate must be available on a 24/7 basis to respond to crisis situations (this may include coming into the shelter to help stabilize and provide intake for a youth). Please do not apply if your schedule does allow you flexibility during evenings and weekends. This position requires excellent writing skills, communication skills, maturity, dependability, integrity, compassion, and a willingness to work hard with a team that is committed to advocacy on behalf of homeless youth. You must also have the ability to multi-task in a possible high stress environment. This is a growth-oriented position, which could lead to full-time for the right candidate. DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct intake for all youth and keep accurate records for services provided. Maintain all case files and client information in a confidential manner. Schedule and monitoring of all health, mental/behavioral health, life coaching and community service/job shadowing activities. Coordinate non-shelter services (weekly positive youth development program) Assist in the recruitment of youth for the program. Provide aftercare services for youth for a period of up to 90 days to ensure they are continuing with their goals and are in safe and stable housing. Monitor and assist in answering the 24 hour hotline and help provide help for youth in need. Assist youth with obtaining employment opportunities through public and private sources. Provide transportation for youth to appointments, and community activities when necessary. Participate in staff development trainings which may include some out-of-town travel. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree (preferred), but will accept three years or more of providing case management with at-risk and/or underserved youth. Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable automobile by date of hire and be insurable in the State of Georgia. Must be able to pass a criminal and sexual offender background check. ON-CALL RESIDENTIAL COUNSELORS/AIDES
Immediate Need: Overnight aides to supervise youth while they are asleep 11 pm - 9 am; Any days, Mon - Sun - $10 per hour 2nd shift: Monday, Tuesday and Friday 5 pm - 11 pm $9 per hour General Description Residential Counselors/Aides (RCs) are responsible for providing supervision and assisting in the coordination of residential services. We are not a traditional group home and have designed a facility which feels like home away from home for youth in our care. We are seeking committed professional individuals who possess a passion for helping guide young people to a positive future. Essential Functions Provide supervision for youth in care. Ensure the basic needs of youth in care are met including preparing meals, doing laundry and light housekeeping. Teach life skills, money management and assist youth in finding employment and furthering their education. Conducts recreational and social activities in the residence enhancing their skill acquisition and peer development. Prepare meals and assure youth are maintaining the goals of the program. Assures youth attendance at recreation, employment, medical, dental, counseling or other appointments and provide transportation as needed. Answering emergency telephone and texts. Complete all resident reports. Other tasks as may be assigned. Shifts Available and Compensation: Monday through Sunday: 5 pm – 11 pm; $9 per hour Monday through Sunday: 11pm – 9 am; $10 per hour We are also seeking consultants to work the following times: Saturday or Sunday - 11 am - 11 pm - $100 Friday or Saturday- 11 pm - 11 am - $100 Sunday 11 pm - 9 am - $100 Qualifications Must be available a minimum of two (2 shifts) per week at least 2-3 weeks a month. Excellent judgment and a willingness to be a coach/mentor not a babysitter to youth in care. Have a clean criminal and sexual abuse history Valid Georgia driver's license and clean driving record. Part-Time (10-15 hours per week) Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia. Essential Functions Conduct health assessments for youth in our Open Hearts Youth Shelter. Work with the shelter's on-call doctor. Take youth to medical appointments, when necessary. Discuss health issues with youth during group activities. Provide individual support to youth who have questions relating to health matters. DeKalb or Rockdale County resident or worker preferred. Hours for the position vary, according the intake of youth, so a flexibility is required.
